The steel carabiner is sturdy and reliable, but as with any product containing metal parts, prolonged or intensive use may cause slight wear. Regularly check the carabiner and other hardware for integrity. This leash is designed for daily use and relaxed walks, not as the sole security for extreme pulling forces exceeding the stated breaking strength. Do not leave your dog unattended when using the full length, especially near traffic.
