Bridge trail Robbenoordbos – forest, boardwalks and observation tower

Step into a forested area where small bridges, boardwalks, and waterways constantly change the landscape's character. This hiking route through the Robbenoordbos and Dijkgatbos in North Holland takes you past dense forest sections, open water, and tranquil forest paths where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle.

PLEASE NOTE: Part of this route is closed from March 15th to July 15th. You will need to follow a short alternative route, which is clearly marked.

During the walk, wide avenues, narrow forest paths, and wooden bridges alternate. Here and there you'll walk on boardwalks right along the water and encounter various benches and small viewpoints where you can pause for a moment. One of the highlights of the route is the observation tower in the area. From here, you can look out over the forest and truly see how vast this nature reserve is.

What makes this walk so enjoyable is the constant variety. One moment you're walking through a dense section of forest where the light softly filters through the trees, and a moment later the landscape opens up along a tranquil body of water. This ensures the route never feels monotonous.

The Robbenoordbos and Dijkgatbos are located in the northern tip of North Holland and together form a surprisingly large nature reserve with much variation in trees, water, and open spaces.
